I'm using the Asus V1Jp with WinXP (came preinstalled with Vista) and I have problems installing the camera drivers.

I've tried with the latest drivers online and with the driver&utility disc, nothing seams to work ..

Are you using LifeFrame? Install Asus LifeFrame and then run it and it should work.

Also make sure you didn't disable the webcam or may not have it installed.
RightClick My Computer, then go properties, then click on hardware, then device manager. Look for your webcam, is there a Yellow Exclamation Mark?

Eitherway, right click on it, disable, and then right click and enable, it may ask you to restart your laptop, do so. And Let us know how things turn out.

Mine works fine, but I had the XP restore disk. I uninstalled LifeFrame, but that isn't to say that it doesn't contain the drivers for this thing.

If after you've checked your Device Manager and it shows everything is fine and correctly detected, what program are you trying to use with it?

On "My Computer", under "Scanners and Cameras", I have a "USB2.0 1.3M Web Cam" which when I double-click the camera turns on (green LED on the camera) and everything works.

i installed life frame, and the computer recognises a usb 1.3 camera, but when i try to launch the software it says "camera driver not found" and quits ..

i've tried to install the drivers from asus support page, extracted them and specified the folder for the installation files, but without success .. i've also tried to let the computer find the drivers automatically, and it didn't work ..

am i trying to install the wrong drivers?

Mine are dated 3/16/2006, 5.32.3.1. Which drivers did you try? Also, if you're getting it from the ASUS site, are you using the V1J or V1Jp part of the site? Maybe they changed the cameras when they changed the model name...

pull the drivers from another model. possibly the g1 or a8. actually the lambo drivers are an exact match. you are prolly pulling vista drivers instead of xp

hehe, no, i'm not trying to install the vista driver, but the latest xp driver from the asus support page ... i've spoken to their support here in sweden and we tried several different drivers, none of them worked .. allthough we didn't try the g1, nor the lambo or a8 --- i'll try them lthis weekend ..

    thanks for your reply!
