I am in college now, and my notebook has been getting really hot. I don't know if it is because there is no air conditioning in the dorms like I had at my house or what.

Right now, I am uninstalling Adobe Photoshop, and I also have AIM open. Just those two things and my CPU is 63* and my HD is 56*. I downloaded notebook hardware control so I could monitor the temperature and I have it set on the Balanced profile. At idle the CPU temp is in the mid 50's and the HD is in the high 40's or low 50's. When I am not on the computer I usually hibernate it. Is there anything I can do to keep it cooler? Any settings or anything?

Firstly your temps do look fine. But we do recommend that you use a can of compressed air to blow out the vents. Yuo can open the many screws located on the bottom of the laptop.

Then blow out the vents and where the CPU fan is. That should clear out the dust, lint and hair in there.
