    Hi,

It had broken ssd(128 gb sandisk x110 m.2 2260) at my zenbook ux31la. I want to buy new one large capacity, 512 gb. I think about new fast models of "m" key. Who faced with such prob? What model suit ti my book and if it has sense to place disk of type pc-e x4?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dmitriy

    Hey Dmitriy,
I had this same problem recently with my UX31LA. I was doing a lot of research on it as well. Asus themselves only used 2 different hard drives for our model, a Sandisk one (which is also what I had when it broke), and an ADATA model. I found out the UX31LA's motherboard is completely different from the UX31A, so whatever similar ssd problem those owners have, it's different to the UX31LA.

The UX31LA actually has two M.2 slots on the motherboard and both slots are 2260 (60mm). So 2280 size m.2 ssd's won't fit. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a lot of manufacturers who make m.2 ssd's in 2260 length. The only company that I found who still made one in that size was Transcend....

    http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-256...56002315&sr=8-1&keywords=transcend+ssd+mts600

The MTS600. I bought the 256 gb model and it was a very easy install. They do have a 512 gb model as well.

Also, UX31A users write about having to get an adapter to install their M.2 SSD because their motherboards use Asus's proprietary connection. Our UX31LA doesn't have that problem, you can just buy the hard drive above and plug it in without any adapter, it will work fine.

So technically, you can even install a 2nd m.2 SSD if you wanted into the other empty slot.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ray33,

    Your above is true,
As add to your info, the support of asus advised that motherboard of ux31la fitted also pcie 2.0 standard. But I found only one disk pcie with 2260 size - sandisk a110.. and it is oem product.. so I've spopped on crucial mx200 of 500 gb.

    Thanks for yours-)
