May be a silly question - Is Bluetooth on (via the button on the left of the laptop)?

Try another phone or bluetooth device, My Sony Ericsson K800i works fine with my W3J, however i tried a friends phone (samsung I think) and it wouldnt connect, mind you when I also tried from my phone to his phone, it crashed! I think it may be his phone.

Sounds like your having issues with the bluetooth stack. I'd say you should use the included drivers CD to install the Toshiba bluetooth stack which has worked really well for me. That should detect the hardware in the process of installing the software and then you're set to go. If you already have it or any other bluetooth software/drivers installed, get rid of them before doing this.

I use widcomm drivers to hook up my cell phone. I haven't had any problems with them. You can use google to find the latest ones.

I own a W7J so I have to ask: does the W3J have a Wireless Console Utility? If yes, use that to turn on your Bluetooth device, after which it will show up in the device manager.

If you use Widcomm drivers, you can download a new version of the device driver at Broadcom's Bluetooth Software Download site.

Yes, make sure you have the Wireless Console Utility installed. You need this small app to activate/deactivate BT.

    Cheers.
