The new ultraportable S7F seems widely available here in Australia, and at a decent price, but it seems like there is just no independent information on it. I've been looking for reviews or even forum discussions on it, but I haven't been able to find anything.

Has anyone here had any experience with this new model, or have any links to reviews? Or does it go by another model name overseas?

I have also noticed that it is sometimes listed with Intel GMA 950, and other times with Geforce Go 7300. Is this an optional upgrade?

    Here are the base specs:
    12.1" WXGA
    Core 2 Duo T5500
    1 gb RAM / 2 gb max
    External dvdrw
    1.4 kg (6 cell)

Well, the F seems to entail that it has the Intel integrated graphics. The nVidia card would come under the name S7Js.

I heard about this model a few months back, PROPortable was announcing it along with the G series, but I haven't heard about it since.

I just did some googling and damn this laptop seems like a pretty decent ultraportable. It would be great if Asus released it in all black. I think this would be a good alternative to the U1.

I'm interested in this, too. Of course, I'm in the US, so it's not just the lack of reviews that's preventing me from trying one out.

I actually called the ASUS Notebook sales line here to ask about it. They said that I should content myself with the items listed on the US website. Jerks. :)

I'm hoping that means that someone else is going to be releasing it under a different name here, rather than them just wanting to dump all of cow-wrapped S6Fs on us Americans.

We don't get that one in the US, I don't think. Damn shame, I will need to replace my Z33 with something faster eventually. So far nothing has delivered in terms of battery life.
