Does anyone know how to use the iSSD as a cache drive on a clean install of Windows? I've tried pretty much every single solution that I can find on the Internet and nothing works. I've updated to the latest BIOS, and installed Intel RST with and without the Expresscache drivers present. The only thing left is to do a system restore back to factory settings, which doesn't actually work because I don't have a recovery DVD, and the recovery partition is gone.

    Hi,

For this issue, I would recommend contact Acer Support - Acer Support - Answers, E-Mail, Chat - Live Chat

    Hi,

My mistake - I saw "Acer AS3820TG-7945" in your post's signature and assumed your issue was with an Acer laptop. In this case, you would want to call Asus System Product Support at 1-888-678-3688 for assistance in installing the ExpressCache software.

Did you ever get your SSD drive functioning properly again after a clean Windows 8 instal? I have been searcing the Internet and trying different things for three days. I am first focusing on getting Intel Rapid Storage Technology functioning again.

I installed the RAID driver during Windows 8 install and then I used the setup programme afterwards - both from Intel's website - and although I can open up the program, and it tells me it is functioning normally, I do not see anywhere that it is accelerating my speed as all of the guides seem to suggest.

The same guides tell me to make sure RAID is selected in the BIOS but there is no option for that in our BIOS, for SATA I have it set to AHCI.

Please post here and put me out of my misery if you have found a way to get it functioning as it should.

When I called ASUS support they told me they cannot support clean installs of either Windows 7 or Windows 8. That I should use recovery media which is only availble to buy on disc and cannot be downloaded, although currently they are out of recovery media for Windows 7 they do not even provide recovery media for Windows 8. They then suggested I send my laptop back to them for repair which I will have to pay for.

We should not have to send our laptops back to the manufacturer just to clean install Windows 8. There is nothing wrong with my laptop, it just needs to be configured properly.

That is the first time I've ever heard that. You might want to escalate the matter to their supervisor/management; all you have is a basic inquiry. You can also look at Intel's support page; there are support communities (like NBR) and Intel contact info.

I've got an Asus UX32A, did a clean install of windows 7 and had the same problem. I've only skimmed through this thread so apologies if I've missed more than the following, but if you still need a solution, use the tutorial below to enable the Rapid Support Tech and the ExpressCache setup software provided in the eSupport folder in C: (that for some stupid reason isn't enabled by default), it worked instantly for mine. If you haven't got the files, some are provided at the end of the tutorial (I take no responsibility for their authenticity, I have not tried the files myself).
