    Hi all.

I am experiencing troubles on my one year old UX301LA...

Two month ago, I updated all drivers directly from the manufacturers (Intel, Asus, Realtek...). Then, I installed Windows 8.1 update 1. Now, here are the symptoms :
    - When I wake up from sleep (opening the lid or pressing a key), only the power led illuminates and the screen stays blank.
    - When I shut down, only the power led stays on during at least 10 seconds. Cannot do anything until it full shuts down.
    - When I reboot from Windows, same problem, and the computer shuts down. I have to press the button manually to restart.
    - When I reboot from Ubuntu or BIOS ("save changes and exit"), then it shuts down normally but it won't restart neither.
    - When I shut down from Ubuntu live, it seems to power off normally.

Here is what I tried to fix it :

    - Updating BIOS to v.209
    - Reinstalling Windows 8.1.1
    - Using different drivers
    - Uninstalling ISCT
    - All possible BIOS settings
    - All possible Asus software settings
    - All possible Windows Settings
    - Same tests after installing Windows, but only with Intel HD drivers installed
    etc...

    The strange things :
    - Months ago, this happened when I tried to install Ubuntu. The bug fixed almost itself after a week using Windows. But I don't remember what I did.
    - When I go to BIOS and switch both "Intel Virtualisation" and "VT-d" (no matter disable or enable), then my computer recovers his normal behaviour : When I save and exit, the computer reboot. I can go S3 and wake up normally. But after a second boot, then the problem comes back and I have to switch options again.

    Big mistery, isn't it ?
Any ideas or aware users ?

Thanks, and sorry for my English.

    Ok, I answer :

I finally fixed the bug myself. Here is what I did :

    - Go to BIOS and switch "Intel Virtualisation" again in order to restore normal computer behaviour
    - Install Windows 8.1.1
    - Immediatly disable Windows Update to avoid drivers auto install
    - Just install the oldest ATK drivers for UX301LA from Asus
    - Download and install BIOS WinFlash from Asus
    - Download and older BIOS (v.206)
    - Reboot to ensure that power management is still working normally
    - Flash the old BIOS using /nodate parameter for WinFlash
    - Then, install all original drivers from Asus
    - Flash lastest BIOS
    - Achieve Windows Update
    - This is magic ! All is working flawless now

I may have an explanation about what happened but I'm not sure and not good at English. So I will explain only if someone interested in.

EDIT : How can I set the topic title to RESOLVED ?

It could be the windows re install since quite a few people had issues going from 8 to 8.1
