    Hi everyone,

    I bought the UL50AG for the long battery life as it is advertised at 12 hours. I'm getting around 6 hours with normal usage for a 15.6" laptop which is pretty good. The battery is an 8 cell with 4400mAh rating.

    Recently, I found one on eBay that has a 7800mAh rating that sticks out the back a little bit. I was wondering if anyone got a similar battery; and what their total usage time is?

    Edit: The link on ebay is:

    Thanks,
    Gnimble

    is there a replacement for the battery in the best buy ul80jt that will beef up its kinda dubious battery life? (gets like 3.5 to 4 hours with brightness dialed down and average usage.) i THINK it has a six-cell; i'd love to upgrade it to an 8-cell or so.

    I believe the battery linked above would fit your UL80. It sticks out the back a bit and also raised the laptop from the back. Classes start in a month for me so I'll evaluate the current battery after a few lecture sessions. If it is not enough, I might consider the extended battery.

    Cheers,
    Gnimble

    @gnimble,
    12 hours is for standby...for normal usage, don't expect too much....it should only last about 5hrs max....

    12 hours is for light web browsing with wifi and bluetooth. You can get upwards with 16-18 hours for pure "standby" conditions.
