    Looking at the Asus K40IN-A1, Best Buy's Asus U81A-RX05 and Amazon's F80Q.

Leaning toward the U81A simply because I've seen it, felt it.

    U81A
    + 64-bit OS
    - 1 year parts / labor
+ 7 hrs of battery life (Mobilemark 2007)
    / integrated graphics
    - 100 Mbps ethernet
    - 3 USB slots
    + have seen it
    + HDMI
    ~$700 after tax

    K40IN
    - 32-bit OS but 4 GB of RAM (at least, everywhere I've seen)
    + Gigabit ethernet
    + 4 USB slots
    + 2 yr warranty, 1 yr accidental
    / better graphics
    - 5 hrs battery life
    + Comes with bag, mouse
    - no HDMI
    ~$750

    F80Q
    - 32-bit OS, but 4 GB of Ram
    + spill-proof keyboard
    - 100 Mbps ethernet
    + 2 yr warranty, 1 yr accidental
    ? battery life
    - 3 USB slots
    - no HDMI (but has Express Card which I likely won't use)
    + Comes with bag, mouse
    ~$740

Does anyone have any opinions on these three? Leaning toward the U81A if only because I've seen it. Trying to stick to ~14" screen and I like the wider resolution of the U81A and K40IN. Budget is pretty much $750 unless there's an amazing deal that blows these out of the water (and these already blow most of the other $600-$750 laptops out of the water ... so far as I could find). Probably going to use for web, word processing, Adobe software (photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver), CAD software (Solidworks, Eagle). Ideally, I could play the waiting game, but unfortunately, I need a new laptop soon. My Toshiba's dying.
