Any words when U6V will be available in US shops ?

Alternative is to buy U6Sg which I'm strongly considering, but cannot find any shop in US that will sell it. I know it has been discontinued, but do you have knowledge about any on-line shop that still have some on-stock ?

Asus isn't making the U6sg anymore, and US resellers have pretty much exhausted their supply while they wait for Asus NA to import the U6 update from Taiwan. You might get lucky and find one somewhere online, but all the major retailers only have the -E models left.

There is chatter that Asus NA is reducing the U-series imports because of the faltering US economy and reduced demand, thus their not wanting to get stuck bringing in merchandise that won't move. What that might mean, if true, is that the U6 Montevina refresh (if it exists) will hopefully trickle in sometime during the 3rd quarter or early 4th qtr.

It's available at GenTechPC, still $1599 :( if only it was as cheap as the F8Va! I'd be sold.

sorry but what I would recommend you to get is the VAIO Z series instead
ASUS doesn't seem to have solved the battery life problem although they are providing 2 batteries for the new model again
it's totally inconvenient bringing an extra battery that might only last you for 2 extra hours while the 3cell could only last for 50 mins under the speed mode
even under the battery saving mode, with 2 batteries you may only use it for about 4.5 hours
and seriously, why would you wanna get a 12" laptop which can actually fit a 13" display and be used for such short battery life when you have a better choice that's without all these problems
a VAIO Z will only cost you slightly more

That review is the U6V with the 9300m GS card. The ones to be released, in the US at least, will have the 9400m card which is a substantial step up (128-bit memory bus and should perform just a little slower than the 9500m).
