Two days ago, my G73H has started to crash on a regular basis, seemingly due to heat issues. The hottest area when it crashes is on the bottom right, leading me to believe its related to the graphics card. Why would this issue suddenly appear? Can I do anything about it? Other than the crashing after spending maybe an half hour at a time gaming, there are no other visible issues.

    Idle temp: 74 C
Load temp: Parts of the GPU were at 110 C at times.

I do believe that's extremely abnormal.

Have you already removed the Creative stuff?

Yeah, he's talking about the Creative Sound Blaster drivers, you can uninstall through the Control Panel. They create a conflict with the other audio drivers on the machine.

How is that relevant to GPU temps?

The GPU temps were at 110 C at some locations. I think that's pretty relevant to.

Let me put it this way. I have had no problems with sound before, and do not now. I had no problems with GPU temps before, and I do now.

If you really think its relevant, could you tell me the proper way of getting rid of the Creative drivers? I don't want to get rid of the wrong sound drivers by mistake.

I would check airflow of the 2 ducts, plus check your intake port. Also see if any of the fans are being retarded/bad.

The fans seem to be working. GPU-Z reported them working at 100% before the most recent crash.

Yeah, 110 °C is high. Is it crashing or just shutting off? Removing the Creative stuff won't reduce heat, it just stops a particular crash from happening.

Its shutting off. Game will be playing, screen will go black, and then computer will shut down.

Well, if the ambient temperature isn't high, the fans are working and nothing is blocking the intakes, the only thing I can think of is a break in the thermal bond between the GPU and the heat sink. Not good news and I hope someone else comes up with something simpler to explain the excessive heat. Good luck.

I would call them first and see what they have to say. That's part of the benefits of having a reseller like them as opposed to NewEgg (where I ended up getting mine). Good luck- probably does just need some thermal paste applied.

Yeah, GentechPC could probably help you out.
