I have a S96J, but don't know if this is a common problem or a model problem, etc.

When I scroll fast, I get a beeping sound from the notebook. It's not always, but often, too often. I havn't tested it with the sounds turned off, but I guess that isn't the issue. The sound I get sounds something thats from pre-speaker computer days, Duke Nukem 1 type of anoying beeping, when all the sound you could get out was the basic 8 or so tones.

I got a wireless mouse, Logitech VX Revolution(F-in sweeet) with that really fast and smooth scrolling action, but the problem continues.

My guess is that it could be BIOS or something, but not sure where to start.

    Thanks.

Have you tried a different mouse with it? Usually if a key is pressed too many times in too short a period of time---if you left an object on your keyboard for example, the PC beeper will alert you to this fact. Have you bound a key or function to the scroll wheel on the VX Revolution?

It's not the mouse. I had the problem before I ever got the mouse. The same thing hapends when I use the sroll on the laptop.

Ok it sounds like we can rule out the Mouse being the problem.

You stated that you had this problem before, so even with the touchpad when you scroll, using the silver vertical section and do it fast, it will beep?

If so my you may want to reinstall your synaptic drivers, it could a small driver issue here.
