S96J warranty

Seems ASUS does nice MB, laptops etc.
More I read about S96J- more love it.

One question- what about warranty? Let's say I have discovered that MB or LCD is dead (low probability but possible). Can I contact Asus directly? Let's say I am in Europe and it is too d@mn expensive in terms of time and $ to ship to US.

 

The S96j is mainly a Built on Unit, so the warranty is from the dealer themselves, you should ask the dealers.

s96j is a VBI model, the warranty done by Intel through your dealer, has nothing to do with Asus, but your dealer must be a IPD to get the service from Intel.

 

whats IPD and is geared2play.com IPD? i plan on buying a S96J from them pretty soon

 

IPD-Intel Primary Dealer, I believe g2p must be an IPD

 

The Verified by Intel units like the S96J are warranted through your dealer by Intel. The warranty is only valid in the USA, so you would have to ship it back to your dealer for warranty repair.

It is only the ASUS Ensemble units that have a one year Global warranty.

but i notice that powernotebooks comes with a 3 year warrantee on that machine
they have fewer options, but they have the wsxga screen available for a 6-7 backorder.

Yes powernotebooks has great prices. And all their notebooks come with a 3 year warranty! The S96j starts at $1070 (cash payment). That includes everything. And their upgrades are really cheap! The same price if no cheaper than it would cost you to upgrade yourself!

They deserve a 10/10. They really are awesome, and I never even purchased from them. I would have, but then I moved to Nevada, so I bought from gentechpc, who are also GREAT, to avoid sales tax. Just call them up, talk to them, and you'll see what i'm talking about.

 

IPD is intel product dealer. Cant purchase the s96j without one as far as i know. Why not ask these questions directly?

 

Thatsa z96j not an s96j. We are the only ones that are actually offering a modded screen for the s96j. Once the z96j is out then there is no need to mod the s96j.
