So I just picked up a 1005HA-V, and am installing Vista on it (v-lited, of course).

Anyways, would it make sense to get a 2GB SD card and copy the movie I'm going to play to the card to increase battery life?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't expect a significant increase of battery life by using the SD card instead of your hard drive to play movies. Your laptop hard drive is one of the least power consuming hardware in your netbook (consumes 2-3 watts). If anything, dimming your screen brightness and disabling your wifi would help much more.

Plus, the HDD won't spin down anyway while you're accessing the movie on the SD card so there is no power benefit to taking that approach.
