When I close my LCD lid, my laptop goes to standby mode but when I try to resume it, it won't come back. The screen is black no matter what buttons I press. I have to shut down the notebook the hard way, removing the battery and AC mode and reboot. I'm running on XP SP2 everything updated, my notebook is the G1S-A1.

    Any help please? Thanks.

Not sure how relevant this is. My Thinkpad does this is if I don't install the special power driver from Lenovo's page. Maybe there is a similiar driver for your laptop.

My money is on bad interplay between the GPU and the ACPI drivers. Try updating/downgrading either of them until you have a combination that works.
