    Hi folks.

I'm new here and would like to post my first question ^^

I bought an new laptop and checked Aida which states battery is 10 % wear.
I then checked nirsoft battery info and states 90.1 % which correlates to 10% on the inverse I suppose.
This laptop has been charged only 3 times and was manufactured in January 17 I believe.
Should I be concerned? Using the proper settings for extended battery life I'm getting fairly good life.

However I paid good dollar and do indeed want something 'new'. Perhaps they slapped a refurbed battery in there ? :)

Looking forward on some insite. Ty.

Please let me add that I checked this outside where I used it for ~10 hours total - 10-15 c chilly weather.
edit: I'm going to run in safe mode and let the battery drain. ill post back if this sets the number of wear lower. still open advice though :)

that battery wear info doesn't really mean much.

my 5.5 year old k53ta has only "3% battery wear" and can't even hold a charge for more than 1.5 hours.

As long as your battery can hold a charge for a reasonable number of hours, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for sharing your example. Indeed, i am getting good life out of a full charge. (surfing mostly). I contacted Asus support to see if they had any info and they offered warranty service. I would have
liked if they sent me a new battery and i ship the old one back. But they take in the whole laptop. And don't sell parts to consumers, from what I was told.

After reading up a bit more i learned that odd readings happen, like with your k53ta. Im no longer concerned ;)

    Have a great day ^^^
