I'm hoping one of you can help me out with some questions concerning RAM for my V6V.

    1) First of all, is it possible to change one or both RAM blocks yourself? Is it just finding it, pulling out the old block, inserting the new, and then install driver?

    2) Which type of RAM should I be looking for? I know it's DDRII ram that's in my machine at the moment, but what about the speed? 400 or 533? What is compatible and what are the advantages? And what about the PIN number?

    1. yeah -- no new drivers needed

    2. ddr2 533 (pc 4200). 400mhz probably came in your older V6v but 533 will work through a bios update without a problem. Price should be similiar too, so go with the 533.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Where are the RAM sockets located. I think I recall one being beneath the keyboard, and the other one being...??

Does anyone know if there's a guide, somewhere, to getting to the RAM sockets?

they are opposite each other... one is under the system and you can get to that through an access panel and the other is under the keyboard. It's fairly simple.
