I'm planning on getting the asus z71v. although, I am planning on playing games and most likely not in the native res of (1680x1050) WSXGA due to the fact that I play most in 1024x768 or 1280x1024...i know a 6600 is a decent card but probably wont play newer games in that high of a res...does anyone have any experience with gaming using a lower, non-native res on this laptop? how does it look i.e. fuzzy, blurry, etc....or any general comments or advice would be greatly appreciated
    -thanks

If your main use is WXGA or better yet, XGA... you're better with a display that uses that as it's native resolution... You will have a better experience playing XGA on an XGA monitor than on a WSXGA+ that you are lowering the res.......

But I think it's mearly something most people would live with becasue they don't want the lower res for anything else.

    Thanks,
    Justin

    thank you for the response...
quick question: is there a similar notebook out there with XGA or WXGA but similar 'other' specs as the z71v? (main concern here is the video card) or better yet can i get a z71v with WXGA?
