 If anything were to happen to the notebook within the 1 year alotted what would Asus do? Do they replace your notebook with a brand new one or a refurbed unit?

They fix what you broke, with new components on hand.

Asus doesn't deal in refurbished units, so if a problem led to a totally trashed unit beyond all repair you would probably get a new system if still available, else the updated model.

It's good for one COMPLETE Replacement.

I got ahold of a tech rep and he explained the whole deal.

Mailed my junk in and it's all set. Woot woot.

simply because noone wants to lose their laptop for a week, just so they can get a new one that may have problems (dead pixels or defects)

    Yeah thats pretty much it.

I wont be 'taking advantage' of this ever.

If my laptop Legitmatly breaks, then I will send it in, Otherwise I'm going to keep it in a glass box if you know what I mean.
