    Hi guys,

Specifically, I have the Asus N53SN-XV1 notebook with an Intel i5-2410M and Nvidia GT550m.

I bought this mostly for work-related programs that aren't graphics intensive, but I don't mind gaming on the side... and, I honestly thought I could throw a lot at it for a notebook. I checked out some videos on youtube and a benchmark to get a feel for what I could expect. Got it a few days ago and removed virtually all bloatware without going so far as a clean wipe or registry cleaning. I also did the requisite Windows 7 optimization.. The Nvidia Optimus annoyed me initially, but it seems to be using the GPU actively for all programs I boot. So....

Poker Night at the Inventory barely plays maxed out. Not exactly an intensive game. On to Left for Dead 2.. it has mouse lag and frame lag at medium settings, medium rez. Same for Counterstrike! And TES: Oblivion.. only easy on the eyes at lowest settings!

In conclusion, I was under the impression the CPU and GPU were FAR FAR FAR more adaptable to current (and older) games. I'm pretty sure I've seen a GT540m play Bad Company 2 with high settings and great framerate.. WHAT IS UP with my notebook!?
