    Gidday guys.

This morning I tried to update my W3J ATI 1600 driver to Version 6.8, and ran into a bit of a glitch. All seemed to be going well, when all of a sudden it said something along the lines of "Video driver not found" Connect VGA.....

    Any suggstions?

    Some ideas:

Boot up windows into safe mode and uninstall all the ATI items you see in the control panel. Reboot, then reinstall.

You might have better luck with the omega driver, that is what I use on my X700.

I've also run into this problem with my new W3J (see the "Strange W3J Problem" thread). To make a long story short, the only way I was able to update my driver was to use a "DH mod tool," which I believe was originally intended to allow non-mobile ATI drivers to run on laptops. You can get the tool here, along with instructions on its use:

I tried numerous methods before coming across this program - including a complete restore from the recovery partition - and absolutely nothing worked. Someone, be it ASUS or ATI, needs to straighten out their driver situation. It's pretty ridiculous that a third-party modifictation is needed to install a basic driver upgrade!

    Gidday guys.

Thanks Nuahaun, I wound up getting ModtoolV4, which allowed me to update, and even gave me a brief explanation of what was going on. I think I've got it sorted, if I open my Catalyst Control Centre icon, and go to Information Centre, it tells me I am using "CATALYST Version 6.8" Can someone confirm that it's all good and my system is now using the correct driver for my card? Thanks guys.
