    Hello,

    I've recently purchased a ASUS X52DE Notebook.
This product came with a Seagate 500GB HDD, 5400 rpm.
I purchased a Western Digital Scorpio® Black 320GB, 7200 rpm and replaced the original HDD.
But when I try to install Windows 7 64bit, the OS doesn't recognize the HDD and asks for drivers.
I went to ASUS support page but I didn't found them.

    Can somebody help me?

    Thank you in advance.

Your disk must be scratched. You need another DVD or the same but rewritten (on low speeds). But I suggest you to install windows from usb flash drives

No, I'm pretty sure I need SATA drivers.

The driver page for your model is here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

The chipset zip probably has the inf file you need.

You can also look to see if there's a compatible or IDE mode setting in the BIOS (F2 at startup) and install that way. Then you can install the chipset driver and change the setting back to enhanced/ahci.

    Thanks for you answer.

    Chipset.zip doesn't have the driver
Tried also in BIOS as you said, didn't work.

Guess my last chance is to submit a tech. inquiry to Asus.

Well I still :) suggest you to use empty USB falsh drive (or card reader with 4 GB card minimum), download distributive of Windows 7, use Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool and install Windows. If you don't want to download Windows (which would be the best way) you can try to create a disk image of your disk but it may not work.
This is famous problem about "Sata drivers needed" if it is a problem with disc or written windows. I know
