I don't really care for the ultracustomized power options, can I remove the Power4Gear application safely?

    I have an N55SF

Yes, it can be removed safely, all you will lose is a few power plans, but will still have the 3 standard windows plans.
You will also lose the ability to toggle power plans via Fn Space bar.
