    Hello,
I have this new problem that my power supply led is flashing when it is plugged and the battery doesnt recharge anymore. I have read around but I would like a confirmation that it is my power supply that is dead and nothing else. Everything is working fine and just before dieing the laptop was going plugged unplugged mode every 5 seconds.

Btw the laptop is a 1 year and a half old Asus UL30VT.

    thank you

Is the led on the actual AC adapter flashing or is it the battery charging status indicator LED on the laptop that is flashing?

My guess is that it is a dead AC adapter, but it could also be a loose DC jack or something else. A new AC adapter should cost you around $20-30 so it's an easy thing to try.

yes its the led on the AC power supply that is flashing. Is the power supply covered by the 2 years warranty?

That's a good question about warranty (I *think* it's 1 year for the battery and AC adapter), but if the AC adapter itself is blinking, it indicates a short, which may point to a busted DC jack on your laptop. Is the DC jack loose?

I would say there is not a lot of play in the DC jack no. Any way to test the power supply to confirm it's faulty?

Yeah you can test it with a multimeter...
