Whenever I play WoW... The laptop keeps switching from AC to battery mode... doesn't do it any other time other than games. It's a G50vt-x5.. doesn't do it when the game is minimized either. When it happens... it's very rapid. Doesn't do it in any other game than WoW apparently.

Well that's odd. Do you play in windowed mode or full screen?

There could be a number of factors that can cause this power switching issue.

Here's a few things that first comes to mind:

    1. Check to see if you have installed all the critical windows updates and game patches.
    2. Make sure your power option is not set to power-saving mode
    3. Try a different power outlet.
    4. Check your AC adapter to see if it's functioning properly.
    5. Reinstall Power4Gear (if you are currently using it)
    6. Reinstall WoW
    7. Perform a clean windows install

If none of these solution work, it may be a faulty mobo that's causing this. Contact Asus to set up an RMA.

Hmm... thanks. It hasn't done it since. Just weird that it only does it in WoW... Left 4 Dead, Prototype, CoD4, they don't do it. Does it in windowed and full screen mode. Like I said... if it's in window mode and minimized or open in the background, it doesn't do it. Hasn't done it since though.

It's doing it again.. so I took out the battery and restarted... no issues running any game without the battery in there..

Also... once the game actually finishes loading and I'm in... it stops.
