The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I've been a long time lurker of these forums for almost two years now. I first learned about ASUS as a notebook manufacturer by randomly exploring the Reviews page and I fell in love with the W3V series, as well as the V6J.

    And as I continued visiting reading up on the latest trials and tribulations of ASUS releases, I am continually amazed at how lax their release date schedules are. And by how loyal, ASUS fans tend to be. Without a doubt, the ASUS forum tends to have if not the most, then close to it, users going through its forums.

    I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of the F8SV as it appears like it might somewhat fill the hole left by the W3J's abandonment. I never was much of a fan of the A8 or the V2, as they seemingly lacked that stellar quality that everyone uniformly agreed on was found by the W3J.

    I just hope it doesn't compromise too much on building quality and battery life as to be another slight disappointing release by ASUS these last few months.
