As much as I would love to buy a W3v from a US reseller (preferably one of the service minded resellers in this forum), I am finding the information flow and -change a litte frustrating. I truly appreciate PROPortable keeping us up to date on the situation but I'm not too keen on information changing all the time. I know it's out of your hands Justin and I'm not blaming you. I'm blaming the situation. Or ASUS, if they're the ones who keep changing facts.

Finding the right notebook system is important. But I have investigated the latest ASUS models - I know which system I want. During the investigative phase I gladly accept as much information on the issue as possible. But once my mind is set - I just want to make a purchase.

I'm on my way to Europe next week. I will pick up a W3v overseas, making sure I have the ASUS global warranty. Do anyone know of Dutch resellers carrying the W3v?

German resellers are also acceptable if they carry the US keyboard as an option. The Dutch keyboard is the same as the US one.

The reason I'm doing it this way... because I can. I know I can get a system next week - I don't know when I can get one here as apparantly noone knows what's going on with the US W3vs or where they are. Again, I'm not blaming you Justin, I'm blaming whoever is the root of the problem. You are likely to have my business coming your way next time I need anything with an ASUS label on it...

So... that's how it is going to be - for me at least - unless someone can promise me as an absolute fact that I'll be able to buy a W3v in this country by next week. Which I guess is unlikely and would also have been all over this place. [ :(]

    Thanks in advance!

I understand where you're coming from mbdriver. I don't think anyone can blame you for just wanting to make your purchase.

In all my scouting of ASUS models, I actually saw quite a few Dutch resellers, but I don't have any of them bookmarked or anything. It would probably be good to get an idea of which ones will be in the area you are travelling to and see if you can't find out anything about how good they are.

Look forward to hearing about your new W3 when you get it! :)

Actually, I was just thinking that you might try to call the ASUS Netherlands office. Odds are very good you will get somebody who speaks English or they can connect you to somebody who does and you can explain your situation and ask for a list of resellers.

Thanks for the input Sencha. Strangely enough the Dutch ASUS site seems to be down right now. Guess I will just have to try later.

I do want to get a feel for the resellers in the area. That's also why I am hoping someone from the Netherlands can give some feedback on the local resellers before I go.

I will try to provide a review as extensive as yours when I get my system. Thumbs up for that one by the way! I am really curious as to whether the European W3vs have stuff like the aluminium palmrests etc. Not that 100% carbon fiber is bad... I just really love the aluminium finish. But as long as it is (somewhat) compact, has BT and dedicaded graphics I am fine either way.

mbdriver - the w3v is reported to be shipping next week. So maybe you can get your unit here in the US afterall! Good Luck.

I know! [:D] This is sweet. I won't have time to look into it before I go, but now I will buy it here when I get back.

Thanks for the heads up FiloD.
