Well, another guy who's wasted entirely too much time on all these forums and suffering through "paralysis through analysis" has taken the plunge. Was going to buy the Z70va but was disappointed by the news that DVI wasn't forthcoming. I had to re-evaluate, Z70va w/BT or wait (again) for the upcoming (and intriguing new P-M Sagers). I said "shoot, what's a few more bucks?" and went for the gusto. If I don't deserve the best then who does? hehehe. I splurged and just ordered the W2V through ProPortable. Thanks Justin! You da man!
Many thanks also to all of you here who spend so much time lauding and complaining about your notebooks as well as giving honest evaluations of your purchases. You've been a great help to me even if you did make me nutso at times.
Can't wait for my new toy to arrive! :asus: :D :)

    Congrats!

I too was thinking the W2v at one time, but a 15.4" seemed too big still :p

Not a problem for me. For me, portability means the back seat of my Suburban or back of the Corvette. Otherwise, it'll have to be lugged to the Tiki Bar, yard or just around the hacienda. Not much of a struggle. I think I can manage 7 and a half pounds for short distances seeing as I'm 6'3" and 250. Besides, swxga+ will be better for me eyes on a 17" than a 15.25"

What, a stringbean?? :D I'm sure I have quite a number of years on you, too. You'll fill in in time <G>. Let's see, I played soccer in college at 212 to 220.

Hope to have a bit of time to play with it and set up a wireless net before posting some in depth comments. Of course, if something is awry when I first get it I'll be sure to mention it poste haste. (Or help to dispel some of the picky peoples' notions if all is well) It should arrive late Thursday afternoon.

That W2V is a true marvel of notebook artistry. I'd have joined the W2V brotherhood if it had a better video card, like the GeForce 6800 Go. Congrats on your purchase!!

But, I'm more interested in where you live. A Tiki bar is nearby? Which island paradise do you call home? I wanna move there... as long as I don't have to paint my face and punch it full of holes!

Yea, the W2v is a very nice computer, especially for a such a size.

The only things holding me back was the price, students dont make much :p, and...well....I think thats it

The vid card will suit me nicely. I'm not a gamer, yet, since I never really had the time to spare. That's all changing next month when I retire (relatively young, hehe).
Where do I live? Well, I go where the weather suits my clothes. Currently, I inhabit the Isle of Long, NY, which is where my Tiki Bar is located. By my beach, surrounded by palms, bananas and assorted and sundry sub-tropical plants. Really!
I need to figure out the method I'm going to use to control my tunes from the Tiki Bar, using the W2V as my remote control, since the stereo is up a small bluff and inside my house about 100 feet away. The main puter, which currently feeds the stereo is a floor abve that. Three stories plus 60 foot vertical to it.
When the leaves start falling I'm off to warmer climes, starting with SW Florida (base camp) and beyond, carting my parrot, Greyhound and wife along with me.
    Need any more info? ;)

Oh, almost forgot. Face painting and piercing is optional but funny hats are mandatory!
