I bought one of these about an hour ago, my first Acer after a decade of VAIOs and Thinkpads. I don't see much discussion of this model - any other owners want to chime in with their thoughts?

D'oh! :) Asus, of course. My other top candidate was the Acer Timeline, got them mixed up...

Yes, the Best Buy one. I'm writing this on it now, as I load everything. All of my previous laptops have been ultraportables (Sony Picturebook, TZ, IBM X-series) so this thing feels huge but not bad, so far.I don't own a television and got tired of watching my DVDs on the Sony's 11" display. :)

First impressions: the keyboard is sort of clacky, the touchpad seems oversensitive but I'm fiddling with the settings now. The display is nice - better than the store, where it looked somewhat washed out, and brighter than the Timeline's, which looked dim.

Less than a month later, and it looks like the Asus will have to go - the display has too much glare for my eyes apparently. It didn't bother me early one, but now working with it for extended periods has my eyes aching and watering, which is never a problem with my Sony TZ150 or even my old IBM X30. I've spent the past week fiddlign with various settings to no avail. Ironic, since I thought a alarger display would be easier on my eyes. I'm now thinking that I'll get another, larger Sony.
