When I move my pointer to an icon/file/link it automatically opens the application without clicking/double clicking. This happens both when using the TouchPad and Mouse. This is really driving me crazy. Does anyone have a similar problem and/or a solution for this? Thanks
BTW I have an F3F notebook.

That's strange - sometimes things can happen when you set the desktop to function as an internet page, but that doesn't sound like the issue. And if it happens with both the mouse and touchpad, it isn't that the touchpad settings are set too sensitive either. Hmmmmm. Maybe try going into the Mouse settings in Control panel and confirming them all back to defaults to see if anything changes?

Hi ClearSkies, thanks for your response ... I did however already try that. I think it could be a hardware problem as I even reinstalled Windows and software but it is still happening. It is driving me crazy as it opens every file or link by just moving my pointer to it.

That is quite odd, how about the latest Synaptic Drivers? Try that out.

Also to to control panel, mouse, then in the tabs have a look through them also click on Device Settings, this is for synaptic drivers and you can change some settings there too.

Well ... I have re-installed the Synaptics driver but the problem stays. Any more suggestions? I am thinking of returning my F3F notebook to Asus and let them have a look but the problem also is is that it is not happening all the time .... usually after maybe an hour of operation.

Update: My laptop was returned to Asus and they did a full system check and now, after about a week of usage the issue appears to have been solved. Unfortunately enough I don't exactly know what they did but it works. So I'm happy.
