I've had my z63a for a year now, and I re-did the battery calibration, ack! I'm down from 4.5+ hours to about 3hr 40mins. The battery is about 80% worn, and while I'm not in a huge rush to replace the battery just yet, I want this thing to last at least another two years and have good battery life. My main concern is getting my hands on another battery in say six months time.

Where should I go to purchase one? Will these be available in six months to a year? I'm assuming a battery from any of the w3's will work with it, although they're black in colour... we'll have to see. Any of you resellers able to put my mind at ease?

Here's what I would do in your situation, you do have 2 options and possibly a 3rd option, when you want a new battery.

    1) Call or email as many resellers as possible and ask if they have a W3J (Silver) Main battery.

    2) ASUS Estore, they carry basicaly everything of ASUS products and parts you will be able to find it there aswell.

    3) Ebay and any other company that sells batteries of all kinds or in particular laptop batteries. Remeber you want the Silver W3J main battery, not the dark (black) one.

Also re-check your wear % on the battery, you stated 80% worn, but you only lost 1 hour of battery life, whereas 80% wear would lead to roughly 1.5 hours of battery life. ;)
