I'm thinking about buying a new laptop. I currently have a stock gateway p6831fx and was thinking about upgrading it, but instead am just going to go i7.

I want the BEST laptop for around 1500ish usd. This is what I found.

    What do you guys think?

Are there any other comparable laptops on the market? I know nothing about the ati video cards, is the 5870 a good card? Would it be similar to a 9800, gtx 260m or gtx280m?

Let me know if thats a good laptop, thanks!

im typing this on my G73JH-A2, and have absolutely no issues, just played DA:O for the past hr and had absolutely no issues or nothing. However, majority of issues we are seeing with the G73 models seem to be the ones coming in the X1 version from newegg....

Nah, X1 and A2 are same systems, it's just that A2 has a backpack and a mouse.
This laptop is the best you can get for around $1600 right now. I'm so satisfied with the laptop.
I have no problems at all. It works fine. Some peope don't like the keyboard but I don't mind. I'm actually starting to like the keyboard.

I agree kim, but following the thread, it only seems the X1 users are complaining about it and the only place to get X1 that I know of is from Newegg
