I have no idea right now. I would guess around $2000+ because that is around the G71 price.

"That just leaves pricing and availability. Asus was quoting an £1,499 SRP, which isn't too bad for a high-spec system and premium chassis, with models due to go on sale in mid-July. Overall our initial impressions of the system are pretty positive. For a gaming laptop it's relatively compact and its design is unobtrusive, with only the backit keyboard adding a little panache. We'll be sure to give our verdict next month when it goes on sale."

It does look like an HP DV notebook from that angle. If it wasnt for the blurry Asus near the hinge I would wonder about the pic too.

Overall it's a slick looking system

Yep. Almost certainly looks like a Pavilion to me. :p

First time other than the GTX 260M & 280M have made their way into laptops. I hope notebooks such as thin and lights would also get the upgrade soon. Oh, a 45nm of the 260M & the 280M would be nice.

As of now I do not have a release date. I suspect end of this month or beginning of next month.

I guess they will have to come with 9 cell batteries then if not then I feel bad for anyone not using them as a desktop replacement.

The keyboard, case and positions of certain items plus the lid, all look like an HP. Remember HP does not build their own notebooks and contract other companies todo it usually out of taiwan and china... so ASUS may have shared a unit recently.

Remember ASUS has been supplying HP with parts for years, thats how i first came to know them.

The F50SF is available now for around $800 w/$100 rebate, +/- which is a good price, I think, given the specs. I was lucky enough to find one even cheaper, but appears it was a one time lucky find. Anyway, for a P8700, GT 220M, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB 7200rpm HDD, etc. I could not find anything else better. I had my eye on a Sony Vaio CW unit for around $950-1050 w/230M but for the money decided to go with the lower cost Asus. (I play mostly older games anyway.)

The Asus does indeed look a lot like some HP's (like my dv9000) which, to me, is a good thing as I like the look.

Dunno bout the 220M but the 240M scores around 6400 @ 1280x1024 in 3Dmark06 placing it between the 4650 and 4670 DDR3 cards in performance.

I think the 220M was around 5800 or so...not sure, but there are some videos on utube showing gameplay and it looked pretty good. The few user reports I've found were fairly positive. I'm guessing it's about midway between the 4570 and 4650. Anyway, good enough I'm hoping!
