Wow, great find! +1 . Only problem is, There is essentially no Windows software written for this resolution unlike the A-company, which designs its own core products to match its best resolution devices. It will come to Windows in time, but the question is, will people pay up for the screen before there is software to run on it, and will programmers waste the resource writing new code if there are few ultra high res Windows monitors out there? Catch 22.

At this point, I;m waiting for the HASWELL refresh.

Prices of current models (sandy/ivy) should start dropping in July/August if you are looking for a deal.

Why would you need the software to be designed for a resolution? Most programs are flexible and can run at a multitude of resolutions, something else would be unusable as currently 1366x768, 1600x900 and 1920x1080 are common resolutions while there still are a lot of 9:10 monitors and even higher resolution monitors in use.

This is pretty much not the case unless you're running very undynamic things such as games (where the UI would be hideously small) which there is no way the 650M could handle at that resolution.

Just thinking about how much Visual Studio code I could fit on there, how many windows could be open simultaneously, makes my mouth water.
Although I never really got the fuzz about the sharpness of the displays. A FullHD panel on a 15incher looks about as detailed to me as the Retina's screen (running full res)
Here is a German Amazon page about the new NB: http://www.amazon.de/Zenbook-UX51VZ-DB114H-Notebook-3632QM-schwarz/dp/B00CHM7FES/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

Still wondering if the information with the HDD's is accurate. I don't think they'd stick 256/512 GB HDD's in one of their flagship devices. In the features list it still say SSD RAID.

The problem is it's not 2880x1800 so you don't get the nice 1440x900 half to fall back on.
