I have the ASUS M50 Series M50Sa-AK023C which I just bought recently. I saw that it had some bloatware on it that I didn't want and looked up how to get rid of it. However my outcome isn't what I wanted. I did manage to get rid of all the bloatware but it seems that I'm not able to use any drivers. The last step I read was to put in the driver CD and install the drivers that way but the CD doesn't seem to be responding. I just get a message that says its compatible with my version of vista (32 bit) and after hitting ok nothing happens.
I tried using the recovery CD again thinking it'd end up at factory settings but I still end up with no bloatware and no drivers. I don't wanna mess with it anymore because I don't want to screw it up anymore so I come here for advice. Any help is appreciated.

Which drivers are you trying to install? Your laptop will probably have all the drivers preinstalled already.
-
I'm not quite sure. I guess all of them. Things like the camera, finger print reader, internet aren't working right now.
These are the instructions I followed to get rid of the bloatware btw.
-
on the driver CD don't run the setup in the autoplay menu, explore the CD instead and install the drivers 1 by 1.
-
That's the instructions to do a clean install. I usually get all the required drivers ready before that.
Don't let the drivers cd autorun. Right-click to open it. Then choose the driver to install(like chipmoney has suggested). If still can't, click these two links to find the drivers you need, 1, 2. -
Is there a link to a guide or something that can tell me how to install drivers? This is the first time I've ever messed with 'em and I'm having trouble figuring out how to install them from the CD. I see the files and stuff but dunno what to do to install them.

Sound:
ftp://202.65.194.211/pc/audio/WDM_R189.exe
And if you have SP3 you need KB835221 hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/835221
LAN:
http://www.marvell.com/drivers/files/yk51x86_v10.61.2.3.zip -
Wait.. I think I figured it out. *Crosses fingers* I hope this works out.

Good Luck

I think(hopefully) I got most of the drivers reinstalled but I still seem to be missing two. I still can't connect to the internet or recognize any networks from the laptop and I don't think I was able to install the CD-rom driver.
