I am planning to buy my son a laptop.
His old Desktop died and he decided he wants a laptop since I bought his mom one less than a year ago.

I got it down to 2 models but need some extra advice to help me decide.

    The 2 Models are:
    Asus 1210N
    Asus UL20A

Priority for us is portability, lightness and long battery life.
From what I have read they both have those.

From what I understand is the 1210N has the ION GPU and a newer Atom CPU.
I never owned a netbook before but I did buy my wife a Acer Aspire 5738Z.
It has a T4200 CPU and GMA 4500MHD GPU.
My son enjoys using this but its battery life and lightness is not good.

    So the question is this:
Which would perform better? 1210N or UL20?
Which would perform as well or better than the Acer 5738Z that we already own?

Both are great but if you are looking to do any gaming go with the 1201 N .
Battery life is better in the UL 20A but I personaly I would go with the ION setup.Dual core Atom is a good addition instead of the uasual single core Atom we see in most netbooks.
4500HD is ok for streaming videos and lite tasks but don't expect any more than that.

My son plays mainly browser based games.
He may want to play some MMORPG someday like WoW, Champions Online and the new upcoming Star Wars: Old Republic.

the 1201n can handle pretty much all mmorpg except problee for age of coan lol sense that will bring down any computer to it knees lol

the 2 mmorpgs i played on mine is world of warcraft pretty much played all max settings except player shadows on native res 1366x768 was geting high 20s and 30s and 40fpss :)

and fallen earth this game i thought would be under 10fps lol sense its fully open worlded and huge but the 1201n handle it pretty decent fighting out of town it was around 30s and 40s in town is was a bit slow but was playable.

4gb of ram should smooth that out sense i was getting a good bit of stopping on fallen earth when stuff was loading sense that game is a ram hog.

champion online i need to try that on it sense its free now for the starter zone :)
