    Hi all,

I'm considering buying the N50Vn-X2B but I have a couple questions and don't see any reviews of the N50 series on here.

    1. How's the screen?
    2. How is the keyboard and is there any lag?
    3. What type of battery life do you get?

I've looked through the owner's thread but can't find any conclusive answers.

    Thanks.

1: I have the LED 1200x800 model which is bright and nice, but suffers from bad vertical viewing angles, but I cannot comment on 1440x900 CCFL. (X2B)
2: Yes it seems all Asus notebooks suffer this problems, with various level of fixes and workarounds to make it better. It's NOT noticeable to me as i type this message quite quickly for example. I'm using an Acer Synaptics driver, and it does seem to be much better, but it still happens on occasions.

    3) I imagine with my LED screen i get more, but i would say you could expect 2 hours as per any 6cell battery in real-world standard usage, like browsing etc..

    1. How's the screen?

It is pretty nice for me. I have freakish's screen (1280x800) but like he says, its vertical viewing angles suck. Also I have noticed that the screen is way brighter than my previous laptop's screen.

    2. How is the keyboard and is there any lag?

The keyboard is amazing and the numberpad on the side is really convenient. The keyboard keys are quite large to me and I have no problems typing on it. As for the keyboard lag issue, uninstalling the synaptics driver seems to have fixed it for me

    3. What type of battery life do you get?

On minimum brightness and surfing the internet, I get around 3 hours and for gaming I would expect less (maybe 1.5?). With my cpu undervolted I can squeeze out an extra 15-25 minutes at minimum brightness. If you prefer to work on battery with a higher brightness setting, your battery life will be less (obviously)

    Thanks guys, both repped.

I think I'll go to Best Buy tomorrow to see the version they have, just to feel the touchpad and the buttons. I've narrowed it down to this and the T500 though so hopefully I'll be done using the ps3 browser to post these soon.
