Over a month ago, I sent in my ASUS F8Sn-C1 after getting the RMA approved for LCD swap. Nothing wrong was with the laptop and it was in fully functional condition. The only thing that was bothering me was the LCD backlight leakage I was experiencing from the LCD display that came equipped with the unit. I wrote ASUS regarding this issue and actually caught me by surprise when they approved the RMA to have the LCD swapped.
ASUS is one hell of a company, I thought and shipped the unit to their RMA facility.
Yesterday, I finally got the laptop back. It took longer than normal to get it back due to my location.
I powered on the laptop and to my dismay nothing was coming on the screen. LCD backlight was completely absent. Tried to adjust it using the brightness key. Still nothing. The computer booted up fine but I could not see a **** thing. Had to use a flashlight to make up what was being shown on the LCD display.
Then I decided to check if they actually replaced the LCD, which they did. But they replaced it with a lower resolution LCD which is only 1280x800 instead of the 1440x900 resolution display that the unit came with.
I am trying to make sense of all this but I don't understand how this could happen. The included repair summary note states that the LCD was replaced but it also states that the LCD backlight was not coming on. But they still sent it back to me? What!? They sent back the unit after swapping it out with a lower resolution LCD display and knowing that the backlight was not working. How does this happen?
I've wrote to their RMA dept yesterday but have not received a response. I did not expect this kind of service from ASUS.
What do I do at this point?

In my opinion, give them hell. That is completely unacceptable and really should have never happened. Mistakes do happen, but someone was obviously not even checking their work to let this one slip by.
Also don't feel too bad, in my own experiences with Asus' RMA service it's either hit or miss. If the RMA guys know what they are actually supposed to be doing, they usually get the job done pretty well. If they don't, which I found through my own personal experience to be a decent amount of the time, stuff like this happens.
Good luck.
My horrible ASUS RMA experience
