I have seen others with this problem, I am at a loss and don't know what to do.

I bought a G50-v1 at Best Buy in February, and the headphone jack started giving me intermittent trouble. I sent it in for repair and the laptop came back bricked, it would not work at all. I sent it back again the same day, and now they have had it for a month, and I can't get a clear answer on what the status is, I just want my laptop back or have it replaced.

You can read the whole story at.

    www.asuswarranty.com

If anybody had any info that might help me, I would appreciate it, I feel at this point that they have pretty much taken my laptop and are ignoring me.

    From your blog:
I am also spending the day at Amazon.com writing a review of every Asus product that they carry, explaining my difficulties getting my laptop repaired, and linking to my blog so they can see the progress and outcome of your ability to rectify this situation.

Tomorrow, I will be spending my day at another online retailer writing reviews of every Asus product that they sell.. and I will do this all day every day until you fix my laptop or at least make a commitment to stand behind your product in a reasonable amount of time.

I am SURE, that if you cannot fix this situation, I can personally make it my mission in life to let hundreds or even thousands of potential customers know how you stand behind your products.

A simple google search turns up quite a surprising number of people who have had a similar experience to mine. I will also be linking to their forums and blogs from my own.

My interest in pursuing these actions is purely dictated by your action in resolving this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.

So, you've accomplished your goal of getting the word out here too, with your very first post - hopefully you'll actually stick around and contribute something more to the community as time goes by ;). If Fremont (the main Asus NA tech support repair facility) needed to get parts, which they sometimes don't happen to have lying around for what is now an out-of-production model, it can take up to a week or two for them to be requisitioned and flown in from Taiwan. Granted, Indianapolis messed you over, but you may need to give Fremont a chance to work.

Asus is a global corporation - you're spending too much time writing reviews. Good luck, though.

You have to keep ringing them every week and emailing them. Get hold of the service rep's name and then don't leave them alone until they answer your query. Eventually you will get annoying enough for them to respond. Good luck and I know how you are feeling as Asus treated me like crap for a good month while they refused to repair mine.

Yeah, I kind of gave up on the review thing. I will stick around. I just found this place today, and I do feel as thought I have a lot to contribute. I am an IT Director at a $50M company, a company that has a lot of sales reps and goes through a lot of laptops. I have a very unique perspective on what works and what doesn't.

All I really want from Asus is to have my laptop fixed, I think 1.5 months is far too long to have parts delivered from Taiwan, which is what they were telling me at one point. They have, however, changed their story now saying that they can have the parts in about a week, which I would be quite satisfied with. I have HAD to buy another notebook to replace this one in the meanwhile.

Just an update. Fedex shows up today with a perfect laptop for me from Asus, I am not sure if it is my old one, but it is the same model and absolutely perfect. It was packaged as a refurbished model in brown Asus Boxes.

So exactly 3 days after I put my blog on www.asuswarranty.com, Asus comes through.

Of course; a $1000 is much less than a bad rep that you could quite easily spread to potential customers. :)

or this could be a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was up to, and there being no brain between the two of them to facilitate.....

sometimes it feels like im talking to the rear.....tech support IS supposed to be smarter than us right?

Might want to make the update about receiving the new laptop a little easier to notice on your page you started instead of buried in the middle... seems like they solved the problem quite nicely, and as mentioned above may have simply been a case of a total break in communication.

Reguardless, Asus seems to have made things right, so might want to make that a bit easier to see.

    Glad it's resolved for ya!
