    Hi everybody :)

So my 2 year old G2S-B1 laptop stopped turning on awhile back, with one month

left on warranty. I sent it in, and just received an email that they wouldn't be

repairing it, but would instead send me a replacement laptop. I was just

wondering if I could get some opinions on whether or not I should accept the

upgrade, is it an upgrade? The specs look like it's a definite upgrade, I'd just

like to hear from you guys :)

Here is my old laptop http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/asus-g2s-b1-core/1707-3121_7-32810326.html

And here is what they said they would be replacing it with

Thanks for any help and opinions you share :)

You'll be getting a brand new notebook with current components and technology, replacing a 2 year old machine.

Asus is offering replacement because parts for your G2 (which probably means the motherboard) are in short/non-existent supply.

Take it and say thank you :).

    You win!

It's much better imo than your prior unit. Say yes before they change thier minds. (not like they would but)

Whaaaaaaa! I hope they don't change their minds lol xD. Pretty decent timing

as my machine decided to die with one month left on my warranty :).

It's also probably a refurbished unit...they don't tell you that (mine was). The new unit will have a 3 month warranty from shipping date. Make sure you test it out to see if anything is wrong. And hope that you don't get ty service after that point, if there is...meh

Are you really getting a GTX 260M powered laptop to replace your 8600M GT notebook

That's pretty awesome. Definitely take it! Go! Now! Go!

Same boat as you. I am still waiting on the replacement though.
