For a little more information, since the question you were asking isn't quite what Tissie was giving an answer to (i.e. Can you legally use someone else's install disc if you have an OEM license), here's the small, relevant part of that guide that will help you out.

So, doing that you can use your recovery disks, get a clean install, and not have to tread the waters of possible illegality in the first place.

I love how people who are used to other computers like to reformat their new Asus and want to do it with another xp disc becasue they don't want "the junk". The only things that could even be construed as "junk" are the few programs Asus includes to make their system "complete"..... dvd burning software, antivirus, etc........ and all of those things can be uninstalled and completely cleared out of the system if you wish. However, if you don't know that, going that extra mile to just put in another xp disc is ridiculous. The first recovery disc is JUST XP..... the other one is the drivers and utilities... and then those "extra" programs are on seperate discs. When you do the install of XP off that first disc, it'll prompt you to install the "drives and utilities disc" to automatically install those. If you don't want to and want to do those all individually, you just stop right there.... Asus is just triyng to make it quicker.....

Asus only wants to try to compete with the rest of the computer world when it comes to pricing.... When it comes to everything else (build, performance, design, etc), they want to be head and shoulders above the rest...... So I just want to help clarify the situation because it's asked about once a week...

... and just to clarify a tiny bit further, the drivers CD is actually the 3rd CD used in the process of recovery (when not using the recovery partition which automatically has everything installed). First you use two recovery CDs with Windows on them, then you are prompted for the driver CD at which point you restart your computer manually.
