Recently lost two keys(half key and 1 key) on my m50vn, is there any cheap way to get a replacement for these?

Yes, contact Asus and have them send you a replacement. Your notebook should still be under warranty and they can arrange a cross-ship for a new keyboard.

It seems a bit extreme for two small pieces of plastic, i really just need two keys to pop in, the underlying mechanism to hold on the keys is even still there.

Assuming nothing got snapped or broken, you could try and attach the keys back on the keyboard. However, the cross-ship wouldn't be too bad of an idea because it's a cheap way to get a new keyboard. I believe your only cost is the shipping cost for mailing your old keyboard back to Asus.

The keys are not just broken off, they're gone, leaving a base with the holding mechanism.

Asus HQ in Europe is in the Netherlands, which I believe which I've heard is slow, I cannot afford to lose a fully functional laptop for weeks just because of two keys

Sorry, I wasn't aware you are in Europe
In that case, the fastest solution would probably be for you to purchase a new keyboard. To give you a rough idea of the cost, Asus is selling the M50 keyboard for $20 USD here in the States. Unfortunately, it is very rare and almost impossible to find retailers selling individual keys for a particular laptop keyboard. Either way, your best bet is to call your local Asus service center and ask if they can send you just the keyboard.

I don't suppose there are someone out there with a broken keyboard for a m50 willing to make a deal? I only found some unreasonable deals on the net.

For now i ripped off some lesser used keys and put them in, but it stills annoys me to no end.
