Here is my post from an older thread

***I ordered on oct 4 2 asus z62j notebooks which were on sale for $349 on act 10th my cc was charged for both of them yet my order status was still pending. I phoned on oct 13th and spoke with someone not sure who and they said that there was only 1 notebook not 2 like i had ordered. I asked if just the one could be shipped and the person on the phone said that i could get the one notebook with a cpu/ram/hdd installed. I didn't want that i oreded 2 barebones becasue i have parts for them, not sure what the reluctance is to sell me a barebones notebooks. Anyhow i tried to call back to cancel my order and get a refund and to no avail i can't get ahold of anyone, i really hope i don't have to issue a chargeback with my cc company. Is anyone else having trouble, i've had nothing but good service in the past from milestonepc.***

Well i'm feeling alot better now. 1 week ago I called MilestonePC and i'm not sure who I talked to but I explained that I still hadn't got my refund, and the person seemed very concerned. So at the time rather than have my entire order cancelled I decided to order one of the Asus A6Vc notebooks and then get refunded the difference. 2 days later the laptop was shipped out and my cc was refunded the difference.

So i'm really hoping everything is back to normal becasue there is still alot of stuff I would like to order from them. Does anyone have any updates on them at all.

For me even if they come back, I'm out. They never returned any of my last 4 emails and I'm not alone in this situation. I don't want to deal with a company that is good on one day and bad on the second, I've lost any trust in them since now I know there is a chance that they don't care about customers. There are much better online store out there.

i think it is too little too late. You dont just shut down for the better part of the year, abandon your customers, their warranty and support then waltz back in again. It doesnt work that way. I dont agree with it as a reseller who provided support to their customer on this forum and others and as customer. If they reopen they need to pick a new name and site as most companies who do this kind of thing have done in the past

Yeah I agree too. Milestone's reputation is analogous to a credit card score. It takes quite a while to build up good credit, but after you start missing a few payments here and there, your score will plummet.

And in Milestone's case, they have lost quite a few returning + potential customers.

I totally agree on the too little too late idea. I still havn't had any response from my pm's here on the board. So i'm not sure if things have got resolved, it may have turned out that i did get lucky. I just wish there was some more solid proof of whats really going on.

I"m not trying to press an issue here but looking back on previous threads it was thought to be a personal problem which started this whole deal but really i'm not sure if thats the case, i just don't like being left out in the dark. I hope people who are still out money or laptops get this resolved. If it helps i called on a saturday and got through to talk to someone. There were a few times though when the phone would just ring and then goto a full voicemail box.

They're still around but with a huge loss due to the few tens of thousands they lost through credit card fraud. As mentioned, they won't be as big as they were before as they want to be more cautious this time around, by laying it low. I know the people there personally, and it has effected them a great deal. They had to lay off almost all their staff and is reduced to local sales for the time being.

Pretty much it was a chain of disastrous events. At first there was a personal event for Danny(The owner) so he left the store in charge to the other employees. It was then they were hit with about 10~ fraud cases which they found out after it was shipped, so a few $1700+ notebooks were frauded, which totaled about $25000 which was charged back from the CC companies. I would assume their bank froze their account and they were unable to refund the money. Then everything probably snowballed down from there.

I know the guys who work(and worked?) there and they're great people, its sad to see something like this happen. I'm pretty sure they'll still honour the warranty(and if not, ASUS will do it).

Heya, I guess, but it looks like I'll be only getting $700~ for it, so I decided against it. I'll just keep it, it's not really that bad, I'd prefer something lighter but it looks like it just ain't happening. Oh well.

And yea, they haven't given an official response which is disappointing, I'll probably go to their storefront in a few weeks(to buy 3 desktops) and I'll see if they can officially say something, as they've just been lurking and, unfortunately, hiding for what it seems from their lack of communication.
