I just traded my wife out of her ASUS G72Gx for a 32GB ipad. I then spent the next few hours installing the normal hardware monitoring tools, object dock, desk space and updating the drivers. I know that the G92s run hot, but I wasn't comfortable with 64c idle temp.

After reading many post about this laptop, I flashed the BIOS to 0602 and installed powermizer and disabled sleep mode. GPU idle temp now 54c

Thanks so much for all the great info. Ever since my Wife got her Mac Book Pro she is leaning more toward Macs. This is fine with me....never thought I would say it....Thanks Steve Jobs for my "new" laptop.

Great friendly forum, from what I can tell from 10+ pages of post.

Congrats, Hank. Now go install some games on that laptop that'll make her beg for mercy. :)
