    Hello,

I just purchased a F3JP from NewEgg (still waiting to get it) and have a question for F3JP/Asus laptop users. I'm a long time Mac user (started on the Tandy CoCo, then Amiga!) and I'm curious if any of you have tried to install it on your machines -- not asking if you like the OS or not -- just curious if you've tried and if so, how was the experience in terms of speed, etc? (I do understand the legalities of the question and don't need how-tos, links, or torrent files, etc.. Simply want a general idea on experiences.)

If you are wondering why I didn't buy a MacBook. Well, for $1300ish I got my F3JP + 2GB RAM vs MacBook with Intel Graphics (yuck), less RAM, smaller HD and smaller screen. Most likely when they introduce the next updates to MacBooks (hopefully with better video cards), I will pick one up, or get a Mac mini. But until then, I'll be Macless, so it would be so nice to have it running on my new F3JP.

    Thanks so much!

    CCBoy

Remember that installing OS X on anything other than a Mac breaks the EULA agreement for the OS.

Im willing to bet that future MacBooks will likely use the next..integrated GFX available from Intel (which, if its the x3000, isnt that bad). Just so you know.

I've got osx to run as a virtual machine on my a8jp. Speed leaves a little to be desired but other than that it runs perfect.

i tried to install mac osx tiger v 10.41 on my asus a8js and some peripeherals does not work like express card, intel wireless card, video card cant get high resolution, modem does not work. installing and booting mac osx is fast. my acpi does not work either. but i also tried to install it on asus a3a it works like a charm. everything works but i have to replaced intel wireless to a broadcom chipset but had a hard time installing drivers into it. i search to some torrent sites and the name of the osx software is jas 10.48 osx86. i believed this is a hack version of current osx tiger. my advice is to use like a dothan core with intel 910 or 915 chipset with an integrated video card.
