okay new here and things look good here. Today I got my F50SV-A1 and it looks great
yet when I try to fire the thing up I get the green light and the amber light because Im useing A/C power and nothing the thing doesn't go into any ASUS screen no windows no BIOs nothing it just sits there. I tried hiting F5 on startup nothing. Does this thing need like 2 hour to start up the first time?

    Thanks for any help

That's a rather vague problem. It sounds like a screen issue, but that seems unlikely in a brand new laptop.

If you're holding down the power button, that could prevent it from starting--it'll might just keep trying to start up and shut down 'til you let go.
Do you hear a hardrive or fan noise when you press power? Have you tried unplugging the A/C and pulling out the battery before trying to start again?

Oh crap ASUS gone and done it, we finally snagged a mac user and they had a bad experience... quick before we lose him lol RED PILL give him the RED PILL.

Is there a bios reset button on this model? Not sure where it would be on the G50 its a small hole in the bottom of the case by the hard drive. See if you can find yours and push it. To be honest you might have just gotten a sad dud. Hope not but if so exchange it or rma it.

ya I didn't have the 2 grand to spend on a Macbook pro so the Asus looked good. I guess there was no secret way to turn the thing on. The hard drive spins but no fan I tried pulled the battery out and put it back in with no luck, tried hitting escape and power no luck. tried F5 and power no luck. Asus help people have the weekend off for the holiday and I cant find the BIOs reset button just the optical drive button open button. The battery is being used, last night the battery is being used since it turned off because the battery was drained and I charged it up last night and tried again this morning still no luck. I was jut hoping to get the secret handshake from you guys.
