I have a friend whose M9V's X600 is giving him some weird problems. After he reformatted it, the OS will fail to detect the ATi driver after a period of shutdown, and it will keep doing it occasionally. After that, XP will detect a new driver and this is the time he took out the .ini driver files from asus and installed it manually. If he uses the supplied Asus installer (from the web and CD), it doesn't work and it hits back to the square one.

Any idea why? And what should he do?
