Is the M51Sn-A1 a good one for its price?

    Specifically:

    - Which media does the optical drive support? I found different info on this on the web.

    - Is it quiet when working "normally" (no gaming) with it?

    - Can anyone make a comment on the quality?

I did see that. I was still a bit suspicious.... How about the media support? I made bad experience with slim dvd drives cause they would only read high-end media...

For the M51Sn-A1 model, there is no blue ray or hd dvd support. Only DVD/RW w/ double layer
    Check it out here

I was wondering that. I didn't see blue ray and HD support anywhere but on the Acer website. But then, what does super multi mean? There seems to be disagreement regarding the CPU frequency, too.

I don't really care about blue ray and HD. I just wanna make sure that I don't need to buy a very specific type of DVD to be able to burn and read...

Super multi means it can play any DVD (except HD-DVD and blue ray) and burn both DVD formats (+/-) as well as double sided DVDs
