Next week I am purchasing a brand spanking new M50Vm-B1.
It's going to be my first laptop.

But i've heard some rumours amongst the internetwebz that the M50Vm series has a considerable amount of bloatware.
Normally on new PC's I just run the PcDecrapifier to get rid of most of the bloat and leave it at that, mostly because I am lazy.

Does anyone have any specific tips on how to ditch the Bloat with whats included with the M50? (Clean OS install?)
Is the amount of bloat truly that bad?
Will just running the PcDecrapifier ( www.pcdecrapifier.com) be enough to get rid of a considerable amount?

Im completly new to Vista, and this is all a new experience for me..so any step-by-step tutorials or tips in general would be appreciated.

    Thanks guys.

Clean vista install then only install the asus software you need, I think either EBE or emporioumbotique has a vista clean up article.

don't know what bloatware are you talking about, just uninstall Norton and you'll be all set, no need to bother with anything else

    Crapware in general.
You know..the little game trials and crap they shove onto your HD to make you buy junk you really dont need.

Im just asking if the M50Vm has a problem with crapware/bloatware

I do not have Power4Phone... I do have Power4Gear which is an Asus utility. I am telling you there is no bloatware and I am using original OS, I did uninstall trial Norton and trial Office 2007 when I got it from GenTech. This is not like Sony FZ I had, which was full of AOL crap. Asus doesn't included any crapaware.

OP, the Vista optimization guide is in my signature. That lists the typical utilities that can be removed. None of them is really bloatware, because they all have a useful function for some users, it's just that for most there is something better that can be used. :)
