Hi everyone, i own a Asus V6J (spec on signature) and when i play games the cpu temp is 65-70C and the Graphic Card temp is 60-80C. Would these temperatures damage the CPU or Graphic Card in anyway?
Thanks in advance

No. Try undervolting if it is too much for your liking, but otherwise it is OK. Coolerpad would also bring some of those down. Some notebooks seem to have lower idle and max temperatures, but up to 90-100 for cpu and some GPUs even up to 130 (nvidia quadro 1500 for example) work without even throttling down. My x700 worked well even at 120 C (a small airpocket in thermal pad), no errors or any other consequences. I fixed it and it reaches 85 (overclocked).

Those temperatures should be OK, mine when idle is around 40-45 for the CPU, so a 20C jump isn't that bad.

If those were idle temps - you'd have something serious to worry about. Those are numbers are normal for heavy use -you have to remember the V6 is a very powerful system --- especially for it's thinness.... there isn't a huge thermal envelope.

Just some advice, keep the vents clear, don't block them with books or on a pillow or bed surface. (i'm sure you don't do this)
Clean the vents time to time with compressed air, this will further keep your notebook running well. -

You also need to consider the ambiant temperatures. THis summer mine was running into the 50s (all the way to the upper 50s) at times while just sitting idle. The reason turned out to be that it was for about a week, 15 degress warmer than it had been any other time, so the computer ran warmer as well.

idle temps for a cpu should be about 20C above the ambient temp.

thanks for the help people

Had an Athlon in my old laptop, the keyboard would burn my fingers, but it always shutdown before the core melted. I'm sure the same (shutdown for temperature) applies to your laptop.

Athlon besides some other features is great for keeping tea or coffee always hot.

Yeah this was back in the day when AMD and Intel were competing to see who could make a more power hungry chip that could double as a toaster.
